My friend said that all women that are on drugs, that are homeless and beg on the street, that are insane etc. should have their tubes tied ( this usually holds for five years) to minimize or prevent poor or mentally ill or unstable babies being continually born. Do you agree and why?

Getting your tubes tied is rarely reversible so no, as helpful as it could be to our economy we have no right to do that. It correlates with abortion and other family law subjects. We have no right to sterilize, force a person to have their tubes tied or abort a baby- no matter what. It would do a lot better to spend that money and time on trying to get the mothers off the streets, off drugs, into institutions so they wouldn't be raped, having sex with men on the streets or otherwise in the first place, in my opinon.

There are many more mothers of "poor or mentally ill or unstable babies continually being born" who are not on drugs, not homeless, not insane, etc. So that isn't necessarily a solution. And it certainly wouldn't prevent the spread of HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases.
Also, why doesn't your friend want all men who are on drugs, homeless, begging in the street & insane to have vasectomies?

They shouldn't be out there on the streets using drugs and having unsafe sex in the first place. But sure it's a good idea and it could stop innocent babies who r already doomed from coming to this world.
