Yes it is harmful. I have a friend whom is pregnant at the moment and is going through very stressful problems with the babies father (cheating and is open about it and wont stop!)
Because of this its causing her blood pressure to be extremly high which isnt good for the baby because the babies heart rate is too high. If it continues she can possibly lose the baby. Very sad but true.

Depression that occurs during pregnancy or within a year after delivery is called perinatal depression. Often, the depression is not recognized or treated, because some normal pregnancy changes cause similar symptoms and are happening at the same time. Tiredness, problems sleeping, stronger emotional reactions, and changes in body weight may occur during pregnancy and after pregnancy.

im your same situation im pregnant and heart broken, I haave done research and for what i have found out you can have preterm labor if your stresslevel is high , poor diet, domestic ause or violence, I found my self in all those situations, and frankly im scared of how my baby will be afected wen he is born, just try to eat helthy , take walks to the mall or with friends to get away fom hurtful thougts and let them know you dont want to talk about this things because sometimes they just want to ask all the details and it ruins your apetite to the point were you dont wana hangout withthem, so let them know to respect your situation , its hard girl i know im hurting too but just try to be active do what you like go outside, indoors will give you too much to think. visit the doctor regularly, go to museums is cheap, good luck, i hope things go well for you, you can emailme at jackiegradilla@yahoo.com
