Pick up all the trash, bag it and take it out. Pick up all the clothes, start one load on the washer and bag or baskets for the rest. Pick up anything else on the floor like CDs or just whatever and find a permanent storage place for it. Vacuum, Dust, Clean Glass (if you have any) - Wash your sheets and pillowcases and put on new ones. The best way to keep it clean is to clean as you go and to always take out the trash and do the laundry as fast as possible and have plenty of places to store things.

Don't let it all build up. After you clean your room, it feels so good. But before you know it a month has passed and now everything is all over the place. So my best advice is just to keep it clean.

You can clean clutter by getting rid of things you do not use no more , and donate, you can buy containers to store in closets or under bed. But even if you reorganize , if you do not organize your mind ,thought of putting something back in its place or picking up after your self then , no matter how many containers you have , it will just be a bigger mess with empty containers! You have to start with your self first then move on to the containers. It can be hard I know lol

Organize in a way it's easy to keep it up. Have pretty containers/boxes that are open for stuff like jewelry & can just throw in w/ no effort, have hooks to hang necklaces, scarves, coats...etc., arrange your furniture so it's not a hassle to get to your laundry hamper or to hang your clothes up, & each night before you go to bed, go a little earlier so you can do a small amount of tidying. It's so much easier to do a little at a time then the whole big mess at once.

Use under the bed storage units for things you do not use. Get a shoe organizer for your door. Keep books and magazines on book shelves. To keep it clean just stay vigilant about putting stuff away when you use it. When you change your clothes put them in a dirty clothes hamper. Good luck and make it fun when you clean. Turn some music on.

Allison,

the best way to 'clean and keep clean' is to
minimize/reduce. It's tough to do, but you´ll
be so happy once it's done.

make 3 piles:
1 - to give away
2- in doubt
3- must keeps

and begin sorting out - be tough here, don´t be
sentimental with something you haven't used
or worn in a long time..... you know what I mean.

then, go back to pile #2- in doubt, and try to put as
many of those things into pile #1- go give away.

once you've accomplished that take pile #1 right
away to your church, salvation army, or another
charity of your choice.

then, proceed to place all your must keeps in
an order system that will work for you.
Closet: sort and store by color, or skirts, pants,
dresses, T-shirts, blouses, jackets, etc.
Shoes, by color or purpose.

All your books, in one area, and sort by theme.
and so on,

and everytime you walk into your room, go straight
to placing each thing where it belongs. Don't pile for
'later' storing....

Hope it helps!

I find it easist to make the bed first, then put away the laundry and then start cleaning up. If there is something you don't know what to do with yet, put it on your bed and then go through all that stuff last. You will probably have a lot of garbage. I also put all the papers in one pile and go through those after as well.

Use the fifteen minute rule: Every night, before you go to bed, set a timer for fifteen minutes. Clean as much as you can, and when the fifteen minutes is up, stop.

It's great because fifteen minutes is not a lot of time, but if you develop a habit of doing this every night, your room will stay clean.

first....go through everything...everything in your room goes on the bed... then you gotta clear it up one by one....go through it and decide...what doyou absolutly need...not what you like...what you need.
Clothes: out of date,to small,torn,faded...get rid of it....keep just a few things...5 pants...10 shirts...3 skirts....3 dresses...one shoe for each occasion.

Papers: needed or not. Try to get rid of those littls drawing, childhood clipping(no need to keep everything for younger days....one or two things from each year of your life...and put in a scrap book.

Hair and Bath: how do you fix your hair....bands...clips...ect....get a box and store them in there. no need to keep a hundred bands if you keep them in one place you will never lose them.

When you have done that...try a yardsale, then you can raise some money to buy new bed covers or a new rug throw in the floor. keep your room bright with fresh air and windows open. Keep a laundry basket in you closet. So when you are done and changing, you have a basket right there to catch your dirty clothing.
Keep a list of room chores on your door....make sure you do what you need to do before leaving your room..
1. make bed
2 clean floor
3 clean bath ect...
good luck .....

Start in one place and clean it thoroughly before taking a step. Work your way around the room this way. Gather a box for things to transport to another room, a bag for garbage, and your vacuum, sponge, cleanser, rags, etc. before you start. Put on some groovy music and get busy. Now that I described it to you, I had better get off my **** and do the same!
