If your county-- or the county where the property is taxed is set up for electronic help-- you can get the general tax expense using only the address. It helps to have the legal description but in my county it isn't necessary.
The county also has listed fairly recent sales in that neighborhood-- including the price per square foot of the dwelling.

Some town papers print transactions because they are public knowledge. On line you can try to find your couny web page and see if ther'es anything there. If you see a 4 sale sign call and ask what the price is. Find one that looks like your size place.
