We're at a major tipping point in world history. Terrorists run rampant, and worse, they have the support of groups who have no idea how terrorist actions will ultimately affect them. Nuclear weapons are spreading not to responsible countries but to individuals who have no qualms about using them indescriminately; nuclear technology (including uranium and plutonium fuel) is now just out of the reach of those who would use it to support their aims, and it is closer to their reach then ever. Global warming and killer infections are real problems, and they are compounded by the fact that the former is at least partially man-made and the former is being supplemented by intentionally created germ and chemical warfare agents. The world society is more fragmented than ever even as it is closer than ever due to improvements in transportation and communication. Many, many factors, including the rise of China, are having unforeseeable consequences for world economic stability. The ability of the US to be a stabilizing factor on the world scene is being eroded both from within and without.
Given all this, 100 years seems kind of optimistic! Personally I think we'll get hit by a meteor that we'll be able to see coming 10 years out but for which the politicians won't be able to agree on a solution.

I think there will be humans around for quite a while longer, although in very small numbers in relatively short order. I think we'll go from 6.5 billion or wherever we are today to under a billion within 50 years.
We're awfully close to a nuclear war. We're also awfully close to sustained die-offs due to famine, disease, and drought. Both of these forces are likely to kill billions, in my opinion, within a few decades. The war will kill millions quickly and many more millions slowly. Disease, famine, and drought will take a lot longer but will really persist.
The real action begins in just a few years when oil "runs out" (which is to say, the energy required to extract it exceeds the energy it produces). We're far, far, FAR closer to that than anyone in a position of power is willing to acknowledge.
In short, if you are under the age of 30, you will see hell on earth in your lifetime.

You will get no end of spurious answers from the Revelationists and other people!
I don't know ... nobody knows.
If you believe in something beyond just flesh and blood, then hold onto that belief. Whoever it is will find you and seek you out as someone who is trying to understand.
For the moment, live for the moment but do it with love for your fellow man (and, indeed) for humanity. That is really all we, as individuals, are capable of doing.
Also keep having WANTED children. If it blows up in their face, they will be the people who will deal with it, not us. We can't prepare them for it except to show them what love is.

less than 100 years at this rate. with the population rising and resources dwindling, it won't be long.
the best case scenario would be a man-made virus wiping out 80 to 90% of all people. maybe the remaining people would get a clue and do things differently.

Read the Bible, itll tell ya how the world is gonna end. Jesus will come in the clouds and take His ppl to Heaven. And the rest will burn with Satan. I think alot of things happening now are leading up to the end of the world. But we are all on Gods time.

I think you are far too pessimistic. Blow ourselves up? We didn't do it during the cold war, which was a situation far more dire, so what makes you think it'll happen in the future?
On the horizon are wonderous miracles of science. Nanotechology, clean renewable energy, genetics, Artificial Intelligence, robotics, the list goes on and on.
We are just as likely to succeed as we are to fail.

Jesus Christ will return from heaven to this earth soon. That will end life as we know it. He will take those who believe (been redeemed from their sins by the blood He shed for the on Calvary) to heaven to be with Him forever. Those not redeemed from their sins by the blood He shed for them at Calvary will go into a period called The Tribulation where there will be great suffering and where it will be more difficult to believe and be redeemed from your sins. Believe on Jesus Christ today? Confess you are a sinner needing His forgiveness. Turn from your sins to live for Him until you die or until He comes to take you to be with Him. This is my prayer for you today.

Sometimes I do feel bad they way things are turning out, but then I think we deserve what we get.
Personally, I think we will 'poison' ourselves to death- get rid of our valuable resources, taint our water, air, food, etc
