You caught us! Stephen Hawking is actually an animatronic puppet built as an elaborate prank by the fraternity I used to belong to. Our ultimate goal is to have the puppet win the Nobel Prize. If we succeed, the joke will be revealed when we have his head pop off and bounce up and down atop a large spring during his acceptance speech (I designed the mechanism myself, but it has not been installed yet). Amongst ourselves, we call the puppet "Professor Servo", out of respect for the real Stephen Hawking, who died years ago of his infirmity. The prank was started by members of the fraternity who, like me, have since graduated, but still help out on occasion to keep it going with the new frat brothers.

When our good friend Stephen died, a brother who was studying robotics realized that he could fake Stephen because of his limited range of motion. All his old friends, family, and colleagues are in on it. The ones who knew Stephen best thought it was a great gag. Others thought it was in poor taste initially, but agreed to at least remain silent when they realized that we meant no disrespect and that Stephen, who was always pulling off practical jokes himself, would have appreciated it. We regularly recruit some of his old colleagues (who are theoretical physicists themselves) to write papers and X-prints and such in his name to keep things going. No one could convincingly make the puppet speak the way he did, so his voice was replaced with a computer voice with the excuse that his real voice had become too garbled to understand. Hiding nearby, his old colleagues take turns typing in Prof. Servo's replies during public appearances. The reason I'm telling you all this (after consulting with the guys), is that we are fairly confident that everyone will think this posting is just a joke. The prank has been so successful, in fact, that there is virtually nothing I could say to convince you otherwise. It is a calculated risk to add to the humor of the prank when the entire text of this posting is read by the (bobble head) Prof. Servo in lieu of "Prof. Hawking's" Nobel acceptance speech. The reading will be introduced as a complete confession of the prank posted to an internet forum in 2006 - which no one believed. The possibility that a conspiracy theory would develop (that Prof. Hawking is a puppet) that would then be "refuted" by his colleagues, eventually leaving only a small following of "true believers", who mostly only communicate dubious evidence as it becomes available amongst themselves, was considered too good to be true.

transferring out into area doesn't inevitably propose contacting extraterrestrial beings. as an example the nearest liveable planet for human beings is "x" miles away. it may well be maximum in all probability that an alien planet is "x squared" miles away, so we likely received't are available in the time of extraterrestrial beings no matter if we tried. they could ought to the contact us except we detect some technological bounce ahead. they got here upon a planet, Gliese 581c, that seems liveable for existence and it isn't TOO a procedures off. We actual is purely no longer waiting to achieve it now, so we are operating in route of on a thanks to get to Mars first. I observed a documentary in this, and a set of scientists believe they could beam a commute to Mars in 8 minutes with their technologies, in spite of the indisputable fact that it is going to take a lengthy time period to construct the machines they pick! If 2012 is actual then we received't have a probability LOL. yet when it is only yet another lie, then we may be in a position to live to inform the tale the elements change and pollutants lengthy adequate to analyze this technologies. I purely don't understand. it doesn't remember a lot for me because i'd be lifeless by technique of the time they parent it out :D

Mr Hawking is quite an amazing man. I've read some of his books and got to listen to him lecture at The Woodlands here in Texas and it's was incredible. See the link for his home page.

Hope this helps.

No, the person is in existence.

His synthesized voice may be considered a fake voice.

His exposition of complex theories in layman's language is a major contribution to promoting a greater understanding of the rather "dry" subject of physics for the masses.

Um.... yes. Yes, Stephen Hawking is a fake, and his books and theories were actually written by a gulit-ridden ibex with graduate degrees in math and physics, strung out on meth for weeks at a time.

(In other words... huh? :-D )

you can't never think so, Stephen hawking is doing math in it's extremes.. so it may be natural for him to make so much of wrong suggestion. i think his condition helps him a very lot in his contribution, such that, it may increase his concentrating etc.. no one came become famous in this field of science with out hard work or geniuses.. more over, we have to consider one person's hard work in a contribution rather than his geniuses

He is a real(exist) man.
He was born exactly 300 years after newton's born. (same month and date) (1642 , 1942)
He is at the job position where newton had.

interesting , right ?

no, he is real, i saw him on Star Trek: The Next Generation. LOL

He is a real person, physicist, author of a number of books, but I have heard that he isn't as intelligent as we are lead to believe.

If he was not crippled, no one out side of his field would have ever heard of him.

Study theoretical physics for the greater part of your life and find out.
