Israel is a sovereign nation that was invaded by another sovereign nation, not to mention the endless rocket attacks. As such, Israel is within its rights to pursue the destruction of that other nation's ability to wage war on it.
Make no mistake...the Lebanese government is fully complicit in this. Last year, the UN Security Council passed a resolution calling on Lebanon to take control of its border with Israel and moving Hezbollah out of range and dismantling Hezbollah as a military force. The Lebanese government has done nothing. If the Lebanese military was unable to do the job of securing its own borders, they could have asked for help from the US, UN, Nato or even Israel. They chose to remain a non-entity under the thumb of Syria and Iran...and now they are reaping the rewards for their 30 years of cowardice.

I agree. Critics say that they should negotiate and try diplomacy. But in this situation there was already diplomacy. Almost 2 years ago Hezbollah agreed to disarm at the UN. Today, it is clear that they have no intentions of keeping that agreement. So for those who say "negotiate", I say negotiate what?? It is clear that they will not keep their word. As for Lebanon and their government, I like it, I have nothing against them. But it is clear that they can NOT control Hezbollah on their own land. So what’s to negotiate with Lebanon if they can't do anything about it? I know that Lebanon is between a rock and a hard place, but Israel has the right to protect itself. Look at it this way, if your neighbor's guest throws rock at you on your property, you expect your neighbor to do something about it. If he does not, then what choice do you have? You have to do something about it. And as for the UN.. well we all know that they are worthless when it comes to enforcing agreements and rules.

I think what Israel is doing is selfish and should not be done because they just want to invade Lebanon again...
They are killing so many innocent people just for two soldiers, I think thats just an excuse, just like Americans said Osama is in Afghanistan when he was dead, they just wanted to go into the country and invade it...
Eventhough Ahmadinijad said Israel should be taken off the map, they did not attack Israel...
Its also unfair because Lebanese don't have the same bombs and planes that Israel has and Israel is backed by the US...
What Israel is doing is just terrorism...

No offense 2 ne1, but no. they're killing innocent Lebanese civilians and bombing all the highway overpasses, airports, and other ways to leave the country. Now they are trying 2 invade the whole country over wut only a few Muslims did. I'm Muslim, btw, and I don't support wut Hezbollah did and definitely not wut Israel is doing. Just look at those sites that biomimetik has been posting. Lebanon has had the most casualties, it's even on cnn and stuff 4 once.
