How can I find a location near me (WV) that will do it? How much does it generally cost? I'm thinking about having it done, but I don't know much about it. I've waxed my own sides before, but never all. Any thoughts or advice would be welcome!

Note: I said I'd waxed the sides before, so I have a general idea. I want to know how much I should multiply THAT pain by.

I also checked yellowpages.com, but the only thing it would bring up was car waxing...

Most decent to upscale salons will have waxing technicians, you just need to call and make an appt. The salon my mom has it done in charges somewhere around $30, but the more upscale the salon, the higher the price. I don't know too much about the pain level, but I assume that it would hurt about as much as what you have already done. You are supposed to take a pain killer about a half hour before the appointment, and some salons will carry a numbing cream you can choose to have applied first, though some may not, so you could consider buying it yourself and applying it at home.

You build up a pain tolerance the more times you get it done, but it's never unbearable. If you are going to go to a cheap place... you are going to get what you pay for. A nicer place in new york will run you anywhere from $55-$70. Check out Bliss Spa in Soho or J.Sisters uptown. You can find plenty of places on citysearch.com

Had it done at Elizabeth Arden after Oprah talked about it. It was the most ungodly painful experience of my life. Childbirth hurt less...and at least I got a baby out of that.
It was also extremely expensive....$100 for the wax and $38 for the Demerol to get me through the first week.
DON"T DO IT. Pain, Pain, Pain, big bad ugly PAIN.

I'd just shave it all. I've done that before w/ no problems. I think waxing there would be 10x worse than doing eyebrows and I find that painful!

Pluck one of your hairs. Now multiply that pain times the number of hairs you have.
