I am not listing what my political views are.
Just want to know if there is such a thing as a Christian Democrat and what they believe that might differ from "most" of the Democratic agendas.

I think by asking this question you have stated your political affiliation. A lot of Republicans want the people to believe that their party is the "Christian Party." While there are a lot of religious folks on the right, there are also a lot of them on the left.
They may not necessarily differ from most of the Democratic agendas. It is possible to be a Christian and believe in certain Liberal ideas. The thing is, politics is not supposed to be based on religious beliefs. Unfortunately, it has become quite the opposite.
Just on a personal note: Right wing pundit jerks like Ann Coulter (whom I'm only assuming had a hand in creating the question in your mind with her book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism"...assuming) don't have a clue what the Democratic party is all about. They hear what they want to hear and spin it their own way to gain political points and get recognized. (Yes, Democrats have done the same.) The woman has made outlandish comments claiming that Liberals don't believe in God. These statements are simply untrue based on one statement that I can personally guarantee is a hard-core fact. "I'm a Liberal, and I believe in God." You see, it's that simple. After knowing that, her comments can no longer be taken seriously because that makes her a liar.
So yes, there are Christian Democrats and some of them are better Christians than some of those on the religious right. Then again, some aren't.
Please do not take this as an attack. I understand someone may take my statements as being defensive or testy. It's very difficult to show emotion when you are typing.
There are faults with both parties and evil in both houses. It just really bothers me when nutcases like Coulter say blasphemous things when she is being judgemental...which is a sin. She will receive her judgement someday.
Have a nice day!

Duh - Hellllllloooooooooo - Your political views are irrelevant. Of course there are "Christian" democrats as there are Muslim and Jewish Republicans.

When someone uses the phrase I'm a "Christian" when boasting of a good deed - I say to myself as oppose to what???? Is that suppose to mean that everyone who is not a Christian is bad???? Or any less of a person???

Why must you categorize?
we
I was brought up to believe that we are all God's children and that we all can learn something from each other. There is good and bad in ALL of us. What were you taught?

Jesus never requested conversion. Christianity was formed long after Jesus. I'm sure JC would cringe every time a self serving evangelist says "in the name of Jesus"! Evangelists should speak for themselves and not stand on the laurels of past religious leaders. .

Where has all the love and tolerance gone???? -

We need new political leadership in both parties - with new ideas and lots of love and tolerance to share. How fortunate we are that our political leaders do come from all different ethnic and religious backgrounds.

In my ideal world - we would all be just people with no particular agenda other than to be kind to each other and respect and follow the golden rule.

Bluejacket8 - We need more of you!

Of course there is. Indeed, I know a Methodist minister
who is a Democrat.

The more worldly people are, I believe, the more complex
they think problems are. I think most people understand
that you cannot make people be moral by passing laws.

There a lot of people making a lot of money peddling
conservative morality - if you vote for this guy, he'll
make it illegal to do that ... Trouble is, he may or may
not be doing that, but he's also getting rid of every
social program he can so that the rich can keep their
tax money.

Personally, I believe that there will be a point pretty soon
where the moral conservatives and the fiscal conservatives
split - they may even create two parties.

I think a lot of 'southern Democrats' are probably Christian. They are more old school democrats and generally are less extreme than modern democrats.

Of course there are. I'm an atheist Republican. Your political party is the party you MOST agree with. I would be a libertarian but they arnt a big enough party in most places.

Probably be dems that believe abortion is murder for sure and i'm sure there are other things they might disagree with the party platform on.

It's a world-wide political movement that essentiall combines the social conervatism of American Republicans with Socialist economic policies (that's a generalization, but it makes it easy to understand).

I think they call them "Blue Dog" dems in Congress...they are like the old Democrats in that they LOVE the US and typically support middle class issues over issues concerning the FAR LEFT minority of the county...i.e, Zell Miller

Democrats just prefer ideology to morals. for example, they say you should be a good person unless you're homosexual, bi-sexual, a socialist, abortionist, or an illiegal immigrant. Then you don't have to be good because you are a "victim."
