I see this rather disturbing event on a all too regular basis. Now mind you, I am not talking about 5-10 years difference - it is more like A 20-26 year old woman with a man 55+. Logic and common sense tell me quite simply "gold-digger". I don't care how great of a personality or "in-shape" the old b@st@rd is - it's just sickening! HE HAS OLD SAGGY BALLS for Pete's sake! (and everything else)
Anyway ... share your opinions. I would love for somebody to try to explain the logic here.

YES, Angelina I have heard of "love" but I am assuming in your case it is called the "love of money".

They have success, money and power. Women like those things. They are secure and stable, and not likely to want children (especially if they already have some). Many of their major life purchases like real estate are made or are very easily obtained. They have a reltively short life expectancy compared to younger men and therefore the prospect of her trading up by defualt (and keeping the money), or once she's married, she can leave for the younger man and get what she can in the process. Younger women have nothing to lose by going for older men at all. They roll the dice on the younger ones.

I think the "daddy" complex may be operating a bit here, but more likely than not it is a choice made out of self-interest rather than psychological compulsion.

I usually date men AT LEAST 10 years my senior, avg or 14-15 years. And to tell you the truth, I find that they have their life together. They are secure in their lives, jobs, and they know how to treat a woman. I don't want to go out with a young guy that has no idea how to be a gentleman. I LIKE it when a man holds the door for me, or lets me walk in a room first. Its alot of little things that most guys don't have a clue about. Don't get me wrong, if there was a man who was younger, and had proper manners, I would gladly date him, but they are usually immature. I don't enjoy house parties where people sit around and drink beer and act like idiots. Financial security just (usually) comes with the package. Most older men will have more money than a younger guy, but that doesn't mean its the girls money that he is dating! Generousity doesn't have an age. A bouquet of flowers has the same meaning, rather its a $60.00 bunch of roses, or $20.00 mixed flowers. Its about how to treat a lady like a lady, and usually older men GET IT. Thats all. By the way, I have my own money, so its really a non-issue with me.

If the man has money, it could be that's she's a gold digger. But, if a younger woman does date an older man, it's usually because she wants a man that's mature and not childish. Women, mentally, are several years older than a man her same age, thus for her to be on the same "mental" level as a guy, he needs to be chronologically older.

Also, older men tend to be more stable, financially and emotionally. They've found they're path (usually) through life and that gives the lady some sense of security, that's he's not going to get flighty and take a 1 year sabbatical in the rain forests of the Amazon.

There are a number of reasons why a younger woman might choose an older partner. Financial security, as you mentioned, is but one reason. Some younger women are seeking a father figure or a mentor to help them with their personal and professional development. Emotional safety may also be important to younger women in a relationship: in other words, the older man is less likely to cheat and/or to leave them as compared to a younger man. Finally, there is no accounting for the vast array of fetishes to which human beings are prone: some younger women may genuinely be sexually attracted to older partners. Obviously, you do not share their attraction. However, your assessment as to the condition of older men's testicles is not true for many older men. Perhaps you haven't examined enough of them yourself?

Have you ever heard about something called *love*?

It doesn't seem so, or else you wouldn't write nonsense like that.

And - sorry to destroy your illusions, but not every man of 40+ is rich...

$$$$$$$$$

It's really easy to understand.

But, there are some dysfunctional women who have severe "daddy issues" and seek out older men as a "daddy substitute."

Hello, are you missing something??? it's MONEY. If the guy has money, it doesn't matter how old he is or where his balls sag to.
