I've been through 2 scheduled c-secs. If you go into labor, then most likely they'll let you continue and will do the c-sec at that time, rather than try to stop the labor. All of this is contingent on how far along you are. I had my triplets at 36 weeks and my daughter at 37 weeks. If you start labor say tomorrow, then yes they probably would try to stop it and let the baby develop some more, which may mean bedrest and a hosptial stay for you.

I had my daughter 6 weeks ago. The doctor did the same thing for me, planned the c section for two days before my due date, I was constantly freaking out wondering if i was going to go into labor before then and what would happen So I know where you are coming from. The doc told me to not worry as soon as I have any signs of labor to come to the hospital and then I would have my c section. Labor does not move quickly and has a lot of signs before hand so you should be fine. Or if your lucky like me, they wound up just doing it 2 weeks before my due date anyways becuase my blood pressure started going up. Don't panic the doctor know what they are doing they have done it millions of times and you will be fine. Best wishes on the new baby and good luck!

Don't worry, hun. If you go into labor before then, they will go ahead and give you an epidural and go with the c-section as planned, just on a different day.
I have three kids, all delivered by c-section. The first was emergency c, the next two were planned. Once you get through the first one, the other's are a piece of cake.

And just so you know, a baby is NOT fully developed at 37 weeks. It takes the WHOLE 40 WEEKS to be FULLY developed. During the last two weeks their lungs and organs are developing. Can you deliver early at 37 weeks? yes, but the baby is NOT FULLY developed.

I had a C-section scheduled almost 2 weeks before my due date with my first child and ended up going into labor 4 days before the C-section (he was breech so it was very necessary to do it) however, my Dr was on vacation so the hospital let me labor for 18 hours before they finally called the on-call Dr in to do the C-section. It was absolutely ridiculous to have contractions 3 min apart for no reason for that long when they knew they were going to have to do the C-section anyway. It was very frustrating! I am now 34 weeks with my second child and so far it is head-down so hopefully I can just have a "normal" delivery.

my first was taken at 37 weeks 4 days my second 38 weeks to help me from going into labor. Seems kinda close to me? You may want to voice your concerns to your dr about going into labor and then having a section.?

you can deliver at 37 weeks. if you go into labor, he will just give you a c-section then. ask him if you can deliver at 37 weeks. some won't until 38 but a baby is fully developed at 37.
