AHH are these other people joking?! No, it wouldn't necessarily hurt, but it is NOT good for a new piercing to be submerged in ocean water. Yes, salt water is very good for piercings, but not dirty salt water, such as ocean water! You most likely won't have major issues if you do get your new earring wet, but try your best to just keep your head above the water and make sure to clean the earring afterwards. Also, make sure to pat your piercing dry with a paper towel or Q-tip every time it gets wet; water trapped between the metal and your ear is a breeding ground for the bacteria that can cause infections. Good luck.

It might irritate it a little. But be sure to clean it with the solution they gave you (saline will also work) both before and after you go in the water.

Salt water (especially natural, like from the ocean) is very good for your skin. It will help to heal your piercing, and it even kills bacteria.

I wouldn't do it, wait until it is fully healed, you could get an infection from the water.
