Depending on the age of your daughter, I would start off by asking her if she knows what sex is and if she has any questions about sex. You would be surprised, no matter the age now, what kids know about sex. My mom was always very open to answer any questions I had and I found that to be comforting to me when I had a question to ask her. I knew I would never get in trouble for asking and she would give the correct answers to my question not lies. This way we had a very open and trusting relationship, which helped out tremendously when I had my first serious boyfriend at 16. Hope that helps.

you should begin talking about the human body and how it works from the time she's old enough to start asking questions. The answers should be appropriate for her age. If she's really young telling her that the baby came from mommy's belly might be enough information.
If you start by just answering questions in simple and clear terms she will get all the information she needs over time and know how you feel about it as well. If the lines of communication are open and she knows that she can talk to you about things that can be embarrassing at times, she'll come to you rather than suffering alone or trying to figure it out from the kids at school.

How old is your daugher? If she's in school, 2nd or 3rd grade, she might know already from other kids. If she watches TV she's learned plenty from that as well.
The thing is to keep talking to her about it throughout her childhood and adolescence. WATCH HER LIKE A HAWK and don't let up. Ask her where she's going, what she's doing with her boyfriends, bring it up often and even drive her nuts. Sure, she'll think you're crazy now, but later in life, believe me, she'll appreciate it.

You don't tell her. She will inquire about these things answer only what she ask but always be honest with her never lie. For example...
My son asked where babies come from? So i told him the grow in a big girls belly. So he ask how they came out? So I told him, there was a special place in the private area. So he ask does it hurt? I told him yes but it was worth it.

I was pretty mature for my age, plus I loved to read, so my parents bought me a two-volume book set that discussed the human body. I just read it on my own and asked questions if I had any.
