Hello, I just got my workshop built ( right next to my home ) Now I am wanting to plumb in a bath room ). The only trouble is the workshop sits a bit lower than my septic tank. Are there any pumps or any thing I can do to get it to drain into my septic tank? This will only have a bathroom ( no washer or any thing like that ) I am sure it will be ok. Just need to know if there is a way to make this work? I was hoping you might tell me a system that can help me. I do not want to have a septic system put in for 1 restroom that wil not be used but a few times a week. thanks Mike T.

Well if you build up a base for your toilet and make it like a throne you might be OK. Otherwise your in trouble. hey how about a portapody and you can just empty it once a week?

This situation is very common in which a sump pump pit is needed to pump lower level drains into the septic system. Obviously you can't defy the laws of gravity.

A pump will not really work because no pump can pull crap upwards so the best thing is to either build a platform for yourbathrrom making it higher .as long as u have at leat 2 degree up per every 10 feet of sewer pipe you should be fine!

My dad did septic for years... it's illegal and hazard to your health to drain a septic system. Call a professional company to install this- what your doing sounds really illegal. You can't just add to septic system if it's not a proper drainage or in the zone area. Sorry, but I think you rather do it right then contaminate your ground.

it's actually a pretty common situation that you have and the problem is resoved by using a pump. Any of your local plumbers should know exactly what you need.

somebody makes a toilet for basements. I see their ads in almost every Popular Science and Popular Mechanics. I never paid that much attention to who makes them because I don't need one.

Perhaps a sanitary vacuum grinder pump, if you can find one small and cheap enough.
