Think about the characteristics of most deities. It's all knowing. It will live longer than any of us humans now currently living. It's both tangible and intangible. It can fulfill almost any desire (with cash, but most religions require an offering). Many consult it for truth and answers whether they are scientists or religious people. And it connects people all over the World. And it doesnt judge us and takes a passive approach to our lives (i.e. it doesnt interfere, but consults when called upon.) lol.

yes to some people it is a god. you can make any thing a god.Anything that takes up most of your time can be a god. some people would stay on the Internet for 4 and 5 hours but won't spend 1 hour reading the true Gods word.

You made a very good observation. But there I have one difference God is absolute truth and infinite.Internet can't provide absolute truth nor is infinite. It cannot be humane and may not solve our problems.It can't bless you. Nor will you have a spiritual feel. INTERNET IS CREATED BY HUMANS.NOBODY CAN CREATE THE ULTIMATE WHICH IS GOD.SO INTERNET WILL NEVER BE A GOD AND THAT'S NOT IT'S DUTY EITHER.
