Help I want a IPOD but know nothing about them?

I'll put it simply.

An iPod is a brand of MP3 player by Apple.
An MP3 player is any device that plays music by storing digital files.

There are 3 types of MP3 players. Flash, micro-drive, and hard-drive.

Flash players have no moving parts and are more durable. They hold not a lot of songs. (1GB-6GB meaning 250 songs to 1,500 songs)

Hard-drive players operate using a spinning hard-drive like in your computer. Don't use it for exercising NO MATTER WHAT. (20GB+/5,000 songs+)

Microdrive players store music on a tiny spinning hard-drive. They are kind of durable, but can be broken by exercise. (4GB-10GB/1,000 songs to 2,500 songs)

iPods by Apple do not have radio and good battery life.
Other MP3 players do.

The best MP3 players are the iRiver Clix, the Creative Zen Micro Photo, and the Creative Zen Vision: M.

u seriously seem new in this section...
first of all i wud tell u not to go for ipod coz creative is much better...
i am sayin this because of quite a lot reosons
sum of them are...
1. creative mostly makes sound systems...so much better sound..
2. it used to make vga cards...that seriously means...much better video.
3. it is workin on these platforms for years
4. they make the best sound cards in the whole world...dont blve me...go to www.creative.com and check out x-fi sound cards
5. creative sued apple recently and if creative wins(Chances are more) the ipod will die forever dat means the ipod u will buy u wont be able to enhance
6. etc

now now ur friends mite be recommendin u apple but seriously apple aint gud...the sound mite be loud but that doesnt mean that it has better quality...creative rocks the sound category
