I'm considering a move to Colorado Springs, anyone have opinions or thoughts about it that live there or have visited? I currently live in South Florida (big change) but I'm tired of all the hurricanes and heat waves.

Although I've personally never lived there, have been there several times and have had friends who lived there. Friends say its the best city they've eveer lived in-Military-so they've lived lots of places. I have visited there several times and the scenery cant be beat. Red Rocks have concerts, Air Force Academy, Pikes Peak. Located near 1 hour from Denver, minutes to Manitou Springs, Canon City (Royal Gorge), lots of shopping. Cons is the traffic, but there are lots of thoroughfares to get around the City and to others. Also, it can get nasty cold, snowy and icy in the winter, but with global warming that is subject to change. Have never lived in Florida but I cant handle the humidity-which you avoid in "the Springs". Lots of activity with the Olympic's training, and I found the people are alot friendlier in Colorado than in any of the parts of Florida I have been to. Go for it--unless you are coming up on "golden age" the cold may be too much..Good luck whatever you decide....God will be there too.

I grew up in California and lived in Colorado for 10 years... nope Colorado isn't some thing like California- rather unlike Orange County. Boulder Colorado jogs my memory of Santa Cruz without the sea, it only has a similar experience and sorts of folk. Colorado Springs is a lot more inexpensive than everywhere in California and its on the sting of the Rocky Mountains, truly positive. The economic equipment in Colorado is a lot extra proper than CA, no longer preserving its tremendous yet far extra proper than CA. The factors with the most jobs are CO Springs, Denver and Boulder.
