Uhm...that reminds me of what my car does. I'm pretty sure (with my car at least) that it's the muffler or exhaust thing. Have those checked out. It might help. It grinds when I first accelerate then it disappears.

I'd disconnect all the fan and serpentine belts and see if the noise was still there.
