For breakfast you gotta have scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, hash browns (scattered covered and smothered...lol) thick cut bacon, JImmy Dean sausage, and a couple of slices of tomatoe fresh from the garden. Add a tall glass of orange juice, and a cup of coffee, and you're set to go for the day.

If you're not in the mood for all that, you go to Waffle House....or Denny's.

For lunch, it'll be the rest of that tomato, sliced thick and put on white bread with mayonaisse, salt and pepper. Add a bowl of slow cooked pinto beans, and a tall glass of sweet iced tea.

If you're not in the mood for all that, you go to Waffle House...or Denny's.

When suppertime comes around, we'll have chicken and dumplins, fried squash, home grown green beans, deviled eggs, sweet corn relish, and pickled beets. Add some of those little cucumbers sliced longways, with salt and pepper, and a big glass of sweet tea.

If you're not in the mood for all that. you go to Waffle House...or Denny's.

Need a snack before bed? There's some homemade peach cobbler and Cheerwine, in the fridge.

If you're not in the mood for all that, you go to Dairy Queen...or Sonic.

And on Sundays, in the South, you know that it's mandatory to combine lunch and supper into one huge meal, serving fried chicken, ham, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatos, green beans, fried okra, and biscuits with apple butter. Summer afternoons, call for homemade ice cream, and you always have fresh cold watermelon ready to slice.

If you're not in the mood for all that...you go to Shoney's.

Yep...I live in the South....lol

Wow I could go on forever with this one, cause I'm a true-blue southern girl. I loooove soup beans and corn bread. Especially corn bread in a glass of milk. Along with that, I love to have fried potatoes, greens with hamhocks, or sauer kraut and weinies. For dessert I'd prefer to have a blackberry cobbler. Sweet tea to drink!

Then again, nothing beats biscuits and gravy with maple sausage. Also, I'll take chicken and dumplings any day of the week!!! Darn, now I'm hungry!

Every time I go to Kentucky, where most of my family lives, my granny makes breakfast, and it's delicious. We get homemade biscuits, country ham, eggs... a lot of things, really. I always look forward to visits because the food is great. I love fried chicken, too, but I don't know anyone who makes it from scratch. We just go to Lee's or KFC.

Fried green tomatoes are the bomb! I made a southern themed dinner the other night with grilled catfish, fried green tomatoes, corn on the cob and sweet potato pie. Southern food is the epitamy of comfort food!
