No. I left mine out while I was pregnant and was able to put the ring back through. It was a little smaller and I had to work the ring back in but it was no worse than getting it pierced in the fist place.

If it's for a pregnancy, remove it only when it becomes uncomfortable. My sister did that and it wasn't closed after but looked funny for a while because of the stretching! Usually, pierced holes will close only if they were not completely healed. This could happen after 3 years if your piercing would react. I always had my ears pierced and never had any problem even with years without wearing earrings. During the last years, I got some earrings to which I was too sensitive and one ear healed behind completely! There's no hole visible from behind anymore and no scar neither!

Maybe.

If you are planning on taking it out because of a pregnancy, know that you don't have to remove it.

If you do remove it most likely it will at least shrink up some. If the hole is still open you may need the help of a piercer and a taper to stretch it back to "normal" size.

It may not be entirely pleasant, but it is doable if it doesn't completely close.

If you are going to do this because of pregnancy, try keeping it for 2-3 initial months so that the time without it reduces and the chances of it closing in the period will go slimmer.

Maybe, but probably not. My wife took hers out when she was pregnant and left it out the whole time and then for about a month after and she can still wear it.

I dont think so, why do you need to leave it out for that long? pregnant? if so, try and find one that you could leave in, or put it in once or twice a month during that 9 months just to make sure.
Thats what I would do...

I doubt it will, because of scar tissue development. My ears are pierced, I haven't put anything in for 6 years and they are still open.

I don't know about 9 months, but you could take it out for awhile I'm sure since it's fully healed.

No, it should be fine - I'm guessing you're pregnant!

You can leave it in for the first few months before your stomach starts getting bigger and then take it out.. it will be fine for the rest of the time. (that's what my mum did)

If you are pregnant... congrats! hehe

Most likely, yes. Trying to reopen it would be a painful experience.
