I have directly seen the failures in the Bush Admin in education! 1) There are a number of schools in my state that are running out of money because they are not getting support from the federal level. Because of this no child left behind schools in small areas have to test higher with fewer kids to get enough money from the federal government. 2) I am a college student i am paying for my schooling myself, so i have a loan. I used to have 1% interest on my federal loan, but recently it has jumped to 6.7%. I am the near future and i know it doesnt sound like much but it adds up and i (the near future) is suffering from it. 3) Bush is allowing corp to send jobs over seas, so he is putting the lowest educated people out of work and i think thats why it raises crime all over the board which it makes it harder for everyone else. Some EXPLAIN this to me

Thats funny about more money doesnt equal a better system. Why are we spending so much money on defense than? Even when our troops dont have the proper armor

No Child Left Behind is a bonus program. It doesn't change what the schools got from the feds prior to the program. Being public schools with massive (unnecessary) overhead they just do whatever necessary to get as much money as they can. The VAST majority of educational fund come from local property tax not the federal government.

Also a loan's interest rate is set by the feds finance commission. Bush has no power over that. The interest rates were exceedingly low for a while, but are now rising. This is done to stimulate the economy and has nothing to do with education.

Bush cannot allow or disallow jobs to be sent oversees. We have trade agreements and agreements with the WTO. Unemployment is lower than it has ever been.

My point is this get involved at the local level regarding education. It DOES need lots of help. As long as you blame feds for local issues, these problems will never be solved.

Gerry gollw is absolutely on the mark. More money does not create a better system, the past proves that. There needs to be some accountability for the lack of teaching methods in this country.
