I don't know, but a friend of mine's dad used to be a professional clown and he would come home from work and beat everyone in the house. This guy's dad was very abusive. It stuck with him. Years later, we had a guy who was a clown for kids birthday parties and one day he came in to pick his paycheck up in costume. My buddy jumped up like a rocket, screamed and ran into the men's room. He had curled up in the last stall, crying terribly. The other guy didn't know what the problem was and came into the bathroom to help and made things worse actually. He didn't realize the other's phobia of clowns.
I've got my old walking doll too and her eye color has worn off. So when she's standing her eyes look totally white and it spooks guys real bad.

it is referred to as coulrophobia. I watched "It" at the same time as i became 11, and that i have been petrified of clowns ever considering the fact that. i'm now 18, and not in any respect something scares me more desirable than seeing an photo of a clown. one among my roommate determined to play a prank on me very last semester, by taping a photo of Pennywise (the clown from "It") on my textile cupboard. I did this quite loud gasp, and my roommates said that my face became white. My phobia is so severe that I warned by sister to not in any respect pull a prank by putting a tremendous poster of Pennywise in my bedroom. I informed her that if she did that, i'd have a heart attack. various individuals are frightened of clowns.

Because there is a grown man sweating, stinking, sometimes smoking behind all that paint and huge red shoes. Scary.

Generation of parents forcing kids to meet weird looking people with wild colors on their faces! Adults know what clowns are... people with makeup on ... small children unused to such facial distortion are naturally frightened.
