Someone else asked this sometime ago, I don't know, but I thought it was good question, so I added it to my Watch List, but he didn't get any responses. I'm asking this question hoping to get lucky, and getting some answers.

You don't say "dollars 200" why do people write "$200" ?????

So that anyone can see which country currency is it. Example, US$200, CHF$200, AU$200 and so on.

98% of the time, i do put 200$, especially when I'm typing.

I don't know. It is how we were taught to write it in school.

I'm not sure....but we do put the cents sign after, don't we???
