Aren't they just preaching to the choir? And if so, isn't that pointless?

It's a well-known fact that regular viewers of Fox news are the most misinformed. So I guess the purpose is to misinform...or lie. Whatever you want to call it.

The point of Fox news is profit, and pushing an agenda designed to safeguard those profits by keeping a certain type of government in power.
When their agenda is so blatantly bereft of any form of journalistic ethics, and their "reporting" so completely lacking in objectivity, it becomes more of an exercises in group-think than in recruiting new converts. Basically, you preach to the choir, because they are the only ones gullible enough to stand and listen. Remember, the "choir" here provides the numbers needed to sell advertising.

In case you didnt notice, FOX is doing very well & have been stealing ratings fron all the other stations for the last ten years & still growing...so either the choir is growing or a lot of both sides watch. The point is to counter all the other liberal outlets!!!!

FOX without a doubt has the best and most equal news coverage of any news programs. The are truly Fair and Balanced.
CNN is heavy democratic just as the NY Times is. Unfortunately with all of them they have the theory that only bad news is good news to report. I think all the media should change the thinking to one bad story deserves one good story. It's too depressing to watch news anymore. The world isn't as bad as they portray it to be.

It makes the choir feel better about the choices they have made in the face of all the evidence to the contrary. Some people just want to be told that they are right. Regardless of the facts.

Fox news keeps the liberals and demorats from both out and out lying and misleading the public. Wonder WHY Fox is Number one and the liberal stations losing viewers and liberal "newspapers" having money problems? I don't even believe the weather reports on the Clintax News Network

No, it helps to have a way to spin all news stories to your people. This way they can tell people how they want a story to be received and shape peoples opinions. They do say some scary **** though huh? A couple of days ago Hannity was saying about Lebanon, Iran, and Syria: "We will have to deal militarily with all of these regimes, why not do it now before they get nuclear?"

No. Fox News may not be liked by some, but it does has the freedom to be. Just like we have the freedom to choose too change the channel.

The point of Fox News is to keep people who have nothing better to do upset about things they can do nothing about in places they've never been or ever will go.

They dodge Katushka's live on air... so that's fine by me. As long as one of the anchors gets hit. Live on the air. Fox also has TONS of pointless news. Oh? An ostrich got loose from the zoo? Oh boy.
