There is no BEST. It depends greatly on what you want to use it for.

Graphics and publishing - MAC

Portability between computers - PC

Portable computer - Laptop

Fixed Office or Home - PC or MAC

If you want a MAC, then get one.

If you want a desktop computer, you will find awesome deals at www.dell.com. I do not like their laptops.

If you want a laptop, I recommend Toshiba. Go to your local Costco or Wal-Mart and LOOK at the models. It is difficult to get what you want without seeing it. Go to a retailer that WILL ACCEPT RETURNS. Some charge a re-stocking fee. Do not be a victim of their return policy.

I think the best computer is the one that you build yourself. Nothing beats doing all the research and buying the pieces that fit what you want, putting it together, and having it work exactly the way you want it. I have built 3 in the past few years and always get compliments on it.

Depends on what you want to do with the computer. If you want to do basic things with the computer, any one will really do. If you have it narrowed down between a desktop and laptop that will narrow down your search.

A couple of things to keep in mind,
if you want to do graphics, video, or just don't want to deal with viruses, then I would recommend a Macintosh, either a MacBook or an iMac.

If you wanted to do gaming, or want to stick with Windows, then you could easily go with Dell or Sony, Within those brand names there are a number of different laptops, it depends on what you want to do.

Consumer Reports ranks Mac at the top and Dell next.

If you want to spend some very serious money, you can go with less-well-known gamer systems from Alienware, Falcon, Monarch, Voodoo, etc. Check out the reviews at

Technology changes everyday the only way to get the "best" computer is to spend top dollar and to custom build it and then it'll only be the best for a few days.

It depends on what you're using it for. I've used both PCs and MACs. If you're being creative, the MAC is the better choice. Plus, now you can run windows on a mac so you have the best of both worlds.
