I'm a 24 year old beautiful black young woman and I happen to be dark skinned. Other races may not understand this but black people tend to hate on each other as if things haven't been hard enough already. Have you ever heard of the paper bag test? People actually used to determine a person's worth or whatever they were trying to determine on whether or not a person was darker than a brown paper bag if you were lighter than the bag more power to you but if you were darker you were made to feel like crap. Now that was a long time ago but it still exists today (not the paper bag thing) but just people looking down on the darker skinned mainly women cause I don't think men had such a problem with it. Having said all that I just wanted to say that I'm finally starting to see myself for the beautiful person I am inside and outside. I'm beginning to love my dark skin, I'm blessed to have a pretty smooth complexion and I love the way my skin looks it reminds me of milk choclate or something:) And also I'm told that I am pretty all the time so if I were you I would work what I got cause God made you that way. And by the way there are plenty of men who LOVE dark skinned women. Sorry So Long but I had to get my point across. And to those of you who used Tyra Banks as an example of a dark skinned women she is not, if you asked most blacks they would say the same thing.

What do you mean? I know some beautiful dark-skinned people! A lot of whites are a little prejudice and it's wrong. I'm friends with some dark and they are wonderful people! So whatever the race is, there are some pretty people everywhere! I'm so white that I wish I could get more tans, then I burn! That isn't much fun either!

Dark skin has nothing to do with it. She can be pretty enough. Every type of beauty has it's appeal. Different color skin shouldn't be a negative. We do have our preferences, but I have seen beautiful women in every shade of human.

No it makes no difference. Dark skinned women are some of the most beautiful, exotic looking women out there. Be proud of the beautiful person you are.

Unfortunately, in the U.S. and a few other places, there is an unrealistic beauty ideal that permeates our lives from every direction (i.e. media, educational institutes, government, employers etc). If you have a low self-esteem, you could feed into that bs and waste half your life worrying about it. You are beautiful no matter what you're features are. From someone who is getting up there in years, take it from me, revel in who you are and what you look like. It's all in the attitude and personality. As anyone that is getting up there in age (like me) will tell you, we learn our lessons and get more comfortable with ourselves. It's a hard lesson for someone young to learn. Sorry so long, but I feel it's a subject that's worth it. Spoil yourself!

White women often work very hard to have a tan.
If skin tone is the only issue, the answer would be - no.
Pretty is pretty.

Nope. Skin color has nothing to do with it. Some of the prettiest, most beautiful women I know have darker skin than me. (I'm white, btw.) In fact, in alot of cases their darker skin actually makes them more beautiful. Anyone who tells you skin color matters is mistaken.

Pritty comes from with-in not the color of your skin.. What you think of your self is all that matters in life, be proud of yourself and the way you look and it will rub off on others..Say to your self I"M PRITTY, Bet you are and that comes from a 65 year old White guy who just happens to think Black is Beautifull.. no, that doesnt mean anything. whats wrong with being dark skinned? im hispanic, and i think it makes girls look pretty. i prefer white or tan guys, not really hispanic cuz most guys i know like that are perves but there is nothin wrong wit dat

no it all depends on what the guy is looking for, if the is looking for and beautiful dark-skinned woman and sees a beautiful light-skinned woman he's still looking for a beautiful dark-skinned woman
