Yes. But I asked my mom if it has always been like this and she said yes. Even when she was younger in the 1950's and 60's, people were obsessed with celebrities.
I am guilty of reading the celebrity mags, though. US weekly and Intouch. I can't help it. It is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Unfortunately - yes! Now my daughter wants to look like so-n-so and needs these clothes and needs to be rail thin etc etc. What a shame that we care more about Jessica Simpson's divorce than getting our troops home and Bush outta office!

Of course! If you watch any inside edition, E!, vh1 or any of the tabloids people go crazy over that crap. But quite frankly i dont care what dress Ashley Simpson wears to a club opening. wtf i really kills me. I dont care about the celebrity newlywed couples who in four months will get a divorce. I guess people just need simething to gossip about

celebrities are actually just normal people like use. neither better or worse than us except for maybe the looks and personalities. plus they are in a higher social class
