Don't worry about how others view you and your family. Some things will never change (racism). As long as you're happy, that's all that counts. Stand proud and know that you are setting an example for those close-minded people. Your are letting them know that it's OKAY to date outside your race. God bless you and your family.

I agree with Snvffy , People will look at you like your trash totally because you got your jungle fever and your children will have to suffer and its a shame , its your fault , not theres , this country hasnt changed much on there veiws on tnterracial relationships since the 60's and its still taboo , because you can be sure that all your white couple friends snicker and whisper and feel sorry for your children behind your back because of the choices you have made , not my personal thoughts on the subject , just observations ive made on society , im not a racist

I am biracial. The only time I see interacial situations as troublesome is when the relationship ends and the children only have contact with their white parent. It can be hard on the child to define themselves when they look black but only have white parents and are only exposed to white culture. Don't worry about people looking at your family that will always happen sad but true. My advice is do help your children to experience both of their cultures it is probably the most important thing you can do if you have biracial children because it helps them identify themselves.
As for the comments that biracial people are beautiful.... Thanks we know!

Hi Dee Dee. Not all looking is negatively-based. I look, myself, because bi-racial children of ANY mixture is interesting to observe. I like to see how genetics come into play. I also mentally applaud how the parents didn't care about what a few narrow-minded people thought about the mixing of the races, and married each other out of love. I, myself, have sampled many "flavors": vanila, chocolate, curry, ginger-sesame and maize. People looked at us, too, but I figured they were just envious because they didn't have the strength of character to do it too...although I'm sure they wanted to. I apologize if i was one of the people who may have looked at your family, but it was only out of admiration.

because unfortunately, that's the "spice of life." If we all thought the same, then this world would be boring. I don't see anything wrong with bi-racial relationships, and people only stare because they don't understand. It's sad and dumb, but I guess that's the best explanation.

Because it is your children who have to suffer the consequences you created. Society has never been friendly to any situation that is different, and bi-racial children get the full impact of that in school, on the street, everywhere.

People can be dumb. There's no justification for it, sorry.
I bet your children are beautiful though. As a teacher most biracial children (and adults) I see are. I can't explain that one either. But don't let it bother you. I'm in a biracial marriage and it's great. I can't wait to have children someday. Be thankful. You are blessed.

VA Girl has stated it so eloquently that there really is no more to be said. Ignorance can only be overcome by education.
