Thermal switches, the heatiing element itself or the timer unit.

I've even seen wires burnt as well.

There are usually screws at the bottom on the front or the top should just lift off (use a flat screwdriver and twist, don't pry)

Check the heat coils. My husband used to replace the coils every few years. They're not very expensive and not hard to get to. Good Luck.

sounds like the heating element has burned out!

it is your heating element......check it for a break in the wire....i bet that is where your problem is....you can buy elements for them.,.sometimes you can take pliers and twist it back together for awhile........good .luck
