Baking soda is great. This is a little yucky, but a bowl of vinegar with absorb odors. I also buy cinnamon oil and put it in a potpourri burner with a little water. It heats up and the whole house smells great.

Air your house out.
Leave some cut fruit out - like sliced oranges, watermelon, they smell great.
Aromatherapy is my next suggestion. Lavender oil smells great and is relaxing.
Finally, if you want, leave potpourri out or dried lavender around. They smell fantastic.

Wipe down kitchen counters with water and lemon juice. Baking soda is also good for eliminating existing odors.
