when black people call whites names and beat them up it doesn't matter as much when whites beat blacks up and call them names, that's a hate crime! why doesn't it matter as much when blacks are mean to whites?sometimes when i watch TV, black people say"i can't be dating a white boy/girl"or something like that, and if a white person says that about a black person, people would think they're predigest? why is life like that?

I think there is definitely a double standard there. If we all want to be equal, we have to treat each other equally. In my experience, they are SOME (can't stress that enough) black folks that are really sensitive about racist remarks, but still make remarks against other races. It's not fair. Here's a idea...let's ALL stop making racist remarks, but I guess it'll just continue anyway.

White people were not enslaved! That’s why. It’s only been a couple of years since the civil rights movement. How do you expect a culture to get over something like that so quickly? People are still alive who went through all that. You don’t think their children saw all that injustice then and remember it now, to this day. The south still hasn’t wiped out racism completely. What do you expect from a culture who still aren’t equal and can still remember what the humiliation was like? But there is no way for anyone to relate, unless you’ve gone through it. Unless your family went through it. People can still remember or recall their family history when their great grandma was still a slave and what she went through. We aren’t going that far now with the whole immigration issue. Hispanics have said that they have received more discrimination now than before the immigration issue came up. We are all created equal??? I think not… Maybe you should see the movie Crash.

Problem is what do you need help with? Can't change anyones thinking but your own.... and tv is not reality.... get outside and find some friends who are color blind and enjoy yourself!! It;s summer-
btw In CA-- doesn't matter what color you are-> if you beat someone up due to race, religion or sexual orientation, it is a hate crime & wil be prosecuted. As for not dating across color lines, racism is racism - I think everyone is prejudice who says will date only based on skin color

unfortunately, its the world we live in today! some of these issues go back many generations and would be very hard to argue about with those people. not because you wouldn't be right, but because what they believe is so inbred, they can't see past what they have been taught!
