Talk to your doctor right away. He may need to prescribe something for it (I'm sure you're pretty uncomfortable). What you can do for yourself is to drink lots of fluids to flush your system. The cranberry juice is only effective to keep you from getting UTI's (sometimes will clear it up at the very early sign of it, if you're lucky)... not clear it up once you have it full blown. If you're having rough sex, or having sex multiple times... keep the area very clean. Make sure you pee after each and every time you have intercourse to flush out any bacteria before it travels to your bladder ***VERY IMPORTANT** Make sure you wipe from front to back to avoid passing bacteria.
If your partner fondles you with his fingers, make sure his nails are short and his hands very clean. Same goes with oral sex (you know what I mean). Women have a very sensitive system and it doesn't take much to irritate it.
PEE, PEE, PEE... it's the most important factor.

There are all-natural cranberry pills that are safe. They have all the same ingredients as the juice, you just don't have to drink them!
Also, ask your doctor about a preventative antibiotic. I took one that was only 25 miligrams every night to prevent UTIs. Sometimes you're just suseptible to them. The dose is so small it doesn't hurt the baby, and it keeps you from getting infections.

Prescription antibiotics are used to cure urinary tract infections and uncomplicated UTI's are simple for physicians to treat.
- If left untreated, urinary tract infections can spread, become very serious and may require hospitalization.
- Some prescription and non-prescription medications are used in the short-term relief of UTI symptoms. These medications are not antibiotics and only help with the temporary relief of symptoms (they do not cure the UTI infection itself). (Specific products may be recommended by a physician or pharmacist.)
- Drinking extra cranberry juice may be protective by possibly inhibiting unwanted bacterial growth.

I am 34 weeks and have had 3 UTI's during this pregnancy alone, not to mention the millions of other times I got them while trying to conceive. They are horrible aren't they? Mine get so bad that within hours of the first symtom (pain when going...) I have blood in my pee. What is finally working for me (haven't had one for 3 months now) is making sure that I go to the bathroom every couple hours...not that I dont have to now anyway...drinking lots of fluids, it doesn't matter what, contrary to popular belief, and going to the bathroom IMMEDIATELY after sex and also taking a bath/shower to wash after sex. I know it sounds dumb but it makes a really big difference. While trying to conceive I would lay in bed motionless for like 20 min hoping to get pregnant and then I would get a horrible infection two days later and was getting so frustrated. Now that I don't do that I don't get them nearly as often and they aren't as severe. Hope this helps!

due to the risk of infection to the kidneys, a mild antibiotic is usually recommended, however since you are pregnant, the best advise is going to come from your doctor. always check with your doctor about things like this during a pregnancy so as not to harm the baby.

you mat be more succeptible to uti's simply because your pregnant. if this is not typically a problem for you, then just follow your doctors instructions & good luck!

there are pills (i believe it is cranactin) that basically are pills of cranberry juice. you can get them at the health food store. there is more than one brand. if your stomach can't tolerate the juice.
and i'd say drink even more water. there are other things they recommend like showers instead of baths, no sitting around in wet bathing suits, etc. i also recommend not having sex with more than one partner.

Just drink a lot of liquids. If you go to the bathroom a lot, the bacteria won't have a chance to grow.

Definately talk to your doctor because she can prescribe you something for it. And I would do it very soon because it could affect the baby.
