I know Katusha rockets aren't very accurate. And I have to assume Hizbullah knows this too. The only reason you hear about them hitting towns is because Hizbullah has fired so many of them. They have actually caused more damage from brush fires started than from buildings hit.
Why doesn't Hizbullah just say "here's your soldiers now please stop shooting at us"?
If you couldn't hit a bull in the butt with your main weapon. What makes you think you MIGHT win in a conflict. I know why Hizbullah doesn't target the Israeli military units fireing on them. They can't hit anything that small.

1. The are pushed by Iran and Syria.
2. The need a big "freedom fighters" name to get a better chunk of the money support for terrorism. Tougher gets more.
3. They want to bargain from the strong positions.
4. They do not care, if somebody hit. They can report to Iranian president that they used all the supplied weapon, and they need more. They will get everything they need.
5. Due to the severe competition in the terrorists world. If you think that all terrorist groups are friends, because they have the same enemy - USA and Israel? Not true. They hate each other even more than us. Remember how King of Jordan was killing thousands of Palestinian? Or fights between Hamas and PLO? To lead terrorist masses in this situation, you need good resume and excellent portfolio: killed 10 Americans and 5 Israelits that is 50% more than last week. And you will be loved and many people will join you, as you as the best fighter with Christian and Jewish trash. And coming back to money - you have more people, you have more power, you have better advertising message - you have more money.
May be, Israel should just pay them to get rid of?

Hezbolah just wants to cause terror inside of israel... killing innocent people is just bonus points for them.
But again, this isn't just a physical war... its mostly a political war. And hezbolah is winning by brainwashing people of the world by making israel look like they are the bad guy in all this....just look at all the anti-israel answers in the other topics here...

Iran is driving this. hezbollah is an Iranian creation and the world community is pretty interested in Iran's nuclear program . This refocuses the world's attention.
