Okay so Im stuck in a delima which most people wouldnt see as a hard decision to make..lol. My husband is in Iraq, he comes home in November, and I return to Washington State in October to set up the apartment before he returns.

Now....I can't decide if I want to get a Job...reason being, Im in school...online distance college. I have 2 children a 5 month old and a 2 1/2 year old.

I don't want to be confined to my house with 2 kids and school for the next year to year and a half until my college is complete.

If I get a job, I have to pay for childcare, and these days most jobs only pay enough so that you can pay for childcare and you usually don't have any extra money for bills or accessories.

How do I juggle a job, 2 kids, a husband and school and yet make enough money to pay for childcare, help with bills and the occasional shopping?

My husband will remain in the Army, but the Army doesnt pay enough to care for families with more than 2 people.

He will be getting out of the army in 2 to 3 years, by that time I will be out of college and hopefully working a good job!

Will you husband be working?

Ask yourself the question if you are mentally and physically able to push and exhaust yourself pushing yourself to the extreme limits for the next 18 months to live a better life for you and your family?

I say go for it but be prepared and live by a very strict schedule for the next 18 months. Make sure that your husband is on board with your decision and that he is willing and able to support you in attaining your goals.

Some other things that might help you financially once you (or your husband) get a job are benefits like childcare flexible spending accounts and working odd hours (evenings and weekends) to avoid childcare as much as possible. Also find out if you qualify for state support or if there are any Veteran programs that might help you pay for childcare

Once you get your degree your income should go up quickly and no matter what happens they will never be able to take this degree away from you.

Good luck.

Okay since you are in school, I suggest you join a community college nearby you so that way you can get more funds by pell grant and in ohio ( we also get Ohio Instructional Grant) check your state grants w/ financial aid and you can take classes online but transfer all your course work.

IF you want to do that i suggest you compare your courses now to the colleges closer to you. It is hard and will be hard for you if you try to get a job and go to school and juggle two kids while your husband is defending his country. Or talk to the military base about this type of stuff, i'm sure they have something of that sort to help military wifes.

Best thing I can think of is, make the grueling plunge into working on the net. You will have to do a ton of research to find legitimate companies. I personally would check out monster.com and hotjobs.com for telecommute jobs. There are alot of companies out there willing to let you work from a home office. You will just have to do some research.

One word of advise while on your journey: Don't fall prey to the Internet scams. They will promise you some outstanding income for minimal work *if you send them money. Don't fall for this.

There are a lot of reputable companies out there, if you are willing to search for them.

Just some ideas:

*try checking out freelance jobs
*if you have computer knowledge- Put it to work for others! There are plenty of computer illiterate people out there willing to pay for help.
*do you know anything about selling on EBay? This could provide a great income for you if you work it well.

I know you don't want to be stuck in the house forever, but it will be hard for you to work outside the home and actually profit from it. The price of daycare is ridiculous! After you pay a daycare you might, if your lucky, clear $100 a week, and that will not do you any good.

Anyway, just some ideas.

Being a Mom/Parent it is called Sacrifice, Be that stay at home mom, Because once you let your younger go to daycare we are talking about germs germs and more germs, And you know what happened then they get sick and have to stay at home and you will miss school anyways so just for now until things MONEY get better, BE THAT STAY @ HOME MOM, At lease KIDS WILL BE SAFE. If you may not like that idea, GUESS WHAT I UNDERSTAND I'M A MOM TO.
