No French owned car manufacturer is worth your money!

I used to work for one of the major motor breakdown companies in the UK and any one of the french makes had more complaints than almost all the other makes there are!

I would not buy any french car even if I was paid to do so, they might look good but the build quality does not exist!

Despite what everyone is saying, French cars are not that bad. If they were, why do they sell by the channel tunnel load? (I have one and no complaints)

Anyway, The 206 is phasing out, slowly and the 207 is making a slow appearance (Not that you can tell by design alone) They are getting cheaper, and they are reliable, fun and with loads about, loads of choice. But word of advice... Keep the same colour. Not because pink is god awful (Think Thunderbirds!) But you'll spend £1500 easily on a half decent job that may never look as good as manufacturers paint jobs, and it will de-value the car too as no-one will really be interested because of what skeletons lie in the closet. I am not making any judgements to you being a chav like some people, but I am saying by all means modify your car to your hearts content, but do things that can easily be changed back to standard. It'll save you money and will sell after you get a new car.

The right hand drive are all made in the uk, I work at the factory and know that we have the best customer satisfaction rating compared with the plants in france, spain etc. As the model is almost at an end you get better spec for your money. The 207 is 250KG heavier so will be slower and worse on fuel. Cars are improved as they get older and new models shpould be avoided untill the teething problems have come out. The 206 is a good car dont confuse the reliability record with the 307, that is awful.

206's are still very much in. I used to have one and they are great to drive. I would stay away from the 1.1 litre version, they struggle for power. I would go for the 1.4 for optimum performance. Being a student im not sure how much money you have to spend but the ideal choice would be the 1.6 sport. You get all the sporty trimmings

A new spray job will cost around £1500, I would definitely go for the pink, why not?????? Ive never seen one before, I'm always into cars that go against the norm. You only live once that what I say.

for a new 206 try www.broadspeed.co.uk

for a used one, its best to go to a used car supermarket such as the websites below, good luck :o)

I think 206s are still in among those who don't know much about cars.

It it quite pretty, but looking dated now.
Other than that, its got nothing going for it compared to other cars in its class - the reliability is poor, the driving position in RHD is terrible, the ride and handling are so-so, the interior plastics look cheap. I'd rate even the Corsa higher in engineering terms.

The parcel shelf is a work of genius, though - light weight, and less components (so probably cheaper to make) than normal, and less fiddly to fit/remove.

Personally, the driving position would drive me mad, and not even the parcel shelf would make up for that.
