I never received any copies of the conditions of probation that my PO says I violated. I did not know what the conditions violated were until 2 mins before the revocation hearing. I also was not contacted by my court appointed attorney until 2mins before the hearing. I never got a chance to confer with attorney. My PO gave the attorney my old address, and no phone number. when the attorney came out of judges chambers I was told that if I continued to a hearing the judge would give me 2 years in prison, or I could accept 6 months in halfway house right now. I was given 2 mins to make this decision. I chose the lesser of the two evils, feeling like I had no choice. I was never given an opportunity to speak on my behalf or anything. I since then have hire an attorney who put in a motion for new hearing. That was a month ago. Do I have a case against the federal po or anyone. I have been completely blind sided hear. And, my life has been taken from me. It is costing me alot.

Continue speaking with your new attorney, but most likely there is not much there. You are supposed to follow-up and make sure that all of your bases are covered. The System is very difficult to deal with, which is why you cannot depend on other people to hold your hand through the process. The onus is on you to know your rights and to follow procedures to protect yourself. It might not seem fair, but it is how most things in life work. Not meaning to preach, just trying to explain why there is probably nothing there in terms of an avenue for you to pursue. At this point do what you gotta do in terms of serving your time, getting advice from an attorney, and to learn from this experience. Your life is not over.

Okay, let's see here. You say the Public Defender never contacted you. Did you contact him? Did you notify his office and or your probation office that you had not received your terms of probation? Sorry, but you have to take a little bit of responsibility for yourself. You obviously got into some sort of trouble, and then sat back waiting for everybody to take care of it for you. You have a new attorney. Keep better records this time and good luck.
