That's something we won't know until we get to the other side, if there is one. Belief is something that you put your faith in without seeing. There's really no true way to know the right answer.

Yes ur right. All religions are scam,in a way,but not exactly.Religions are just a path, just a way,and the Destination is GOD.What generally people do is that they stick to the path, and forget the destination. And this is where the path, the Religion, becomes an obstruction to reach God.It might be true in your case also.Don't stick to the path just go for ur destination. When you pray don't keep any doubt of anykind.Your prayer is lacking Faith.Have faith in your prayer and God.When I pray for a particular thing,I pray just once and it is answered, sooner or later and if that thing is really needed.Everything is decided by God.And yes there's no Heaven and no Hell. They are just state of mind of our soul [yes our soul too has mind and emotions, and this is the reason why we find some ghosts harmless and some very harmful]in the other dimension.

First, you must stop trying, good works and wishful thinking don't work. God doesn't want our good works, Isaiah 64:6 But we are as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness is as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities(sin), like the wind have taken us away. Now look at Abramham in Genesis 15:6 And he (Abraham)believed God and he(God) counted it to him fpr righteousness. Second, then read what Paul wrote about this incident in Romans 4, faith in God's promises, and Abraham was righteous. Righteous means having a right relationship with God. So where do people put their faith, in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Romans 5 gives an excellent explanation of what Jesus did. When one is redeemed(bought back)by Jesus, heaven is a promised place of glory, peace and rest. Third, Pray to God to forgive you of your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ and God will do the rest.

God isn't a vending machine. Think of it this way, if you have a young child who begs for every toy they see in a store, every candy bar, etc., they think they know what is best for them, they think they know what they want and need, but you and I both know that the parent knows what is really best for that child. Just because a child makes a request and the parent doesn't respond, it doesn't mean the parent didn't hear, or if they say no, it is probably because they can see the whole picture and know what's really best for the child. I don't know your situation, but try to see if you can see the whole picture ( and the possible reasons why God may say no) and maybe you will gain a different perspective on the situation. Oh, and on the question of if there is a God...If there isn't, what have I lost in believing? But if there is, it seems to me there is a lot to lose in not believing in Him.

There is what can be known and what can't be known. You are asking about what can't be known. I don't pray much, other than to give thanks, I believe life is such a wonderful gift I wouldn't dare ask for anything else.

I used to wonder not only if there was heaven but what would it be like. I've been unable to conceive of a heaven where I would really want to spend eternity.

What I do know is a lifetime is short, and you won't live long enough to do everything you want. So you better choose now and spend your time wisely.

Well check out pascals wager then show how even through all the ills a better version of democracy or morality would have 'evolved' of the passive and even semi passive religions, much to the disappointment of the positive atheist, more good than ill has come of it all. Don't use the death disease and destruction. Stalin killed 10 times more people than all religions combined and he was just one idea I mean man.

Did you ever think that, maybe God is doing what is best for you by not giving you your "wish"? And, "religeous acts" alone aren't going to get your prayers answered (and "aswering" your prayer may have already happened, but it could just be a different answer than you want)...do you have a personal relationship with God? Have you accepted him as your savior and changed your life to please him? Do you read the Bible (God's very words and one way he chooses to speak to us)? Do you regularly attend church (for your growth - not a religeous act)? If not, these may be why you think he hasn't answered you. Trust me - God is REAL!!!

Well to be honest what have you lost then? God exists He may not asnwer you right now to prove if you really do have faith in Him and don't just see him as a big Santa in the sky. God provides for you real needs. Read your bible as well and study prayer in it.

If there is a heaven and you don't follow Jesus then you have lost everything.

Well, maybe you just are looking in the right place for what you are wishing for. Maybe it isn't in the package you think it should be. Or maybe you are just asking for something you aren't supposed to have.

I think that there is a Heaven and God but we will not know for sure until we get there.

well what do you pray for? Money, fame, women, men? Maybe you look at yourself as a saint but you really aren't. Who knows but with the attitude you have right now it will not happen. You need patience. Try reading the bible there are people in that book who act just like you.
