Try these, maybe they can find a compromise:
- Calder
- Caldwell
- Caleb
- Callahan
- Calem
- Calhoun
- Calix
or just have a look at http://www.babynames.com/ it's useful!

Why don't they try something with the mom's name? Or if it has to be with dad's name maybe they could use Calvonn.
I had twin boys and we made an agreement that we would each name one child - like it or not (this was only after a huge disagreement on names) - He always wanted a boy named Mikey and I had a best friend named Matthew. It just happened to work. Now that they are grown up they go by Mike and Matt.
Help them to see that there should be compromise - maybe they could use dad's name as a middle name.
hope this helps

If it's his first boy, I think he can be called Calvin. Why not? A lot of men want their son to bear their name.
