Okay the internet in a nutshell:

One day some bored guy said "Hey let's link every computer in the world together" and created unix and etc (i know i'm a lilttle off). Then they started the internet as a means of communication between computers. The internet allows us to access other computers. Even though while you stare at this page it seems as if the page is not a computer, this page is stored on a computer and is being hosted by a server, which in essence is just a large computer. The internet allows us to do just about anything that someone has thought of and put on a web server (a big computer that hosts all this crap).

So uh...yeah
