We're too busy eating doritos, sitting on the couch, watching TV.
That and class warfare. The rich pay vastly more taxes than anyone else, and as long as the rich are getting screwed more than the middle class, the middle class is reluctant to change anything. We've been indoctrinated to hate anybody more successful than ourselves (they must have stolen it), so we are content as long as they are getting shafted worse than us.

well if you would read about American history and how we need taxes you would understand. Yes there are alot of BS taxes but income tax and nessesary taxes help run this country. If we had honest politicians that did NOT steal everything this country would be better off and we would prosper more. Americans are sue happy and greedy. Thats why big business moved over seas to make a cheap product and make more money. Thats why China is GROWING tremendously

Because we are a nation of sheep.
The govt/IRS has spent millions of dollars and decades to instill fear in the lemming citizens of the US. And you sit there and gobble it up.
Politicians will never give you a fair tax system. You/we are going to have to force it. And it had better be quickly.

Because they would get rid of tax deductions for interests on home loans and millions of Americans would loose value on the houses they've invested so much money on.
