yes i feel that picking DINESH MONGIA rather than sourav ganguly is MORE'S EGO because if ganguly is not performing in county then zaheer is performing in county(9 wickets in one innings)then he must have been selected for srilanka tour.

The main reason to take Dinesh Mongia is to get an experienced player into the squad.
This is really mean thing that Dinesh Mongia got the chance ahead of Saurab Ganguly. Ganguly is a kind of player who has a lot of experience in both forms of cricket i.e., Tests and ODI's. Saurav also have the talent and nack of getting the victory to the side. He can also review the situation and give more plans to execute as he is a former captain.
So in all the above respects, Saurav is getting upper hand but he didnot get the upper hand as the main thing the selectors say is that he is not in form.
Hoping for the return of Saurav in future.

Dinesh Mongia has a better record in county cricket than Ganguly and the conflict with chappel does not help him either. Ganguly has to perform in an extradinary manner to get in to the team.

its not wise anyways.ganguly is one of the greatest plyers in the world and certainly among the all time top 3 indian players after sachin n dravid.he is a real fighter...a real class act....there is no point leaving behhind saurav just coz he is not performing that well lately....if bad patch is ever the criteria to select or drop a player...history tells the the grat sachin had even a worse bad patch than wat saurav has had...but the indians retained him coz at that time they jsut revolved arnd sachin...now they think that ganguly's inclusion might cause some damage to th team's unity...i personally feel that some younger players in the indian squad dont like ganguly's prsence in the team...and one mor thing is that dravid is certainly of the best batsmen at the moment...but hes not better than ganguly when it comes to captaincy!!! i wish ganguly coms back...specially when u can have players like raina mongia kaif in ur side...how th hell can u afford to miss ganguly!!! pity poor indian selectors!

selecting Dinesh Mongia is far better than selecting ganguly bcoz ganguly is not playing well in Desi and county cricket.But mongia is in a good form.So Dinesh is better than ganguly.

no its not mores ego it was dalmiyas ego thats y gangully stayed in cricket for more one year and if we compare them both on current form we can easily say that dinesh mongia is better than the too.
i think iindian cricket should take more brave steps like these to flourish like the aussies chose hussey over hayden

Even if the basis of mongia's selection was the performance in county, i dont think it was a wise selection, why the hell was Zaheer left out then! he is the leading wicket taker in this county season.

i think ganguly is not doing well enough in domestic as well as county cricket to be considered for selection if he really wants to be chosen in the squad he should score some runs in domestic as well as county

FIRST OF ALL THE SELECTION COMMITTEE IN INDIA IS THE WORST IN THE WORLD.
DINESH MONGIA IS GOOD & GANGULY MUST HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY SEHWAG.
THE SELECTION COMMITTEE MUST HAVE PICKED MORE SPINNERS THAN PACERS AS THE LANKA PITCHES SUITS BETTER FOR THE SPINNERS, & WHY THEY ARE LEAVING ZAHEER KHAN BEHIND, ALTHOUGH IF THEY ARE TAKING PATHAN WITH THEM CHAPPEL IS NOT ALLOWING HIM TO PLAY. WHY, WHY???????
IT WILL BE BETTER IF THEY WILLL CANCELL THE CONTRACT OF CHAPPEL.
