Cause they want your vote, once they get it they forget the people.
Its human nature & it is upto us to change it.

The first thing that an elected politician do is to prepare to get re-elected. To do that he/she has to tell his/her constituents what they want to hear. To get campaign money, he/she cozy up with lobbyists and other special interest groups. After winning an election, they do whatever they feel like doing anyways. and the constituents are stupid enough to get these politicians back in office. That's why I'm all for term limits.

first, they say and do things to get them elected. its not that they were lying, i think their intentions were good, but once in office the old dudes that have been there for years put the young ones in their place, so to speak. to follow the status quo. they wont let the freshmen rock the boat too much. plus, once inside, they see how the government really operates and discover that what they wanted to do, isnt going to get done because of bureaucracy, spacial interest groups and lobbyists and crooked politicians. its an evil world inside the gov for an idealistic newcomer who wants to do the right thing for the people.

All elections are about money, who ever has it wins.
In Ohio Blackwell gave the vote to Bush and now he's running for Governor, he will win. Never mind the fact he is a crook. He has the money to win.
