u can freely use the combo i.e cd writer *** dvd player(combo drive). mostly you wil get a CD along with the product u purchase. U load the the CD contains NERO Express soft ware it will write all your Cds.You can use it as CD writer and Dvd player. If it is a dvd writer u are using it .for both as Cd writer as well DVD writer. You need to install all components of the CD u got along with the product.

You can't unless it's a combo DVD-ROM/CD writer. If there's no write capability built into the drive itself then you need to get a new drive that can.

u cant use a DVD ROM to write a CD but u can use a combo drive ie DVD ROM & CD RW..or a DVD RW...

dvd rom would have to be a cd writer.
try to drag and drop to that drive, and see if it gives you the option to burn

can't - a dvd-rom is a dvd player only...to burn cd's you need a cd-rw drive or a dvd+/- combo drive (burns cd's and dvd's)

Just go out and buy a DVD-RW, and add it as a slave to your existing DVD-ROM.
