Becuase those are the rules. After level 5 there is no limit.... spend the time after you reach your limit voting for best answers and then giving thumbs up/down on resolved questions, then your points will go up way faster. Best wishes

there is a limit so someone who starts doesnt level up real quick and gets to level 7 in a week by just posting random nonsence
