i don't know how i know so much info about this movie but...there was a movie i think it was made around 1998
theres this movie about this one guy, who lives in his aparetment and he studied time travel, and usualy what happens is, when you go through time travel you have to act dress and look like what it looks like in that time period, and the rule was you can't have anything from the presant, well. he changed himself and he went through time travel and went to like the 1970s ( i think so) and in his apartment he had a picture of a pretty picture side view of a girl, and when he went through time travel, he met this girl and he fell in love with her, then got to see the side view of her and that was when the picture taken, and realize shes the girl all along, then he felt something in his back pocket, and he took it out and it was a present penny, and he was sent back for breaking the rules. what that movie called? thank you very much

The movie is "Somewhere in Time" and starred Christopher Reeves and (I believe) Jane Seymore)...awesome movie.

Somewhere In Time, starring the late Christopher Reeve and the beautiful Jane Seymour. I watched this movie when I was nine years old, memorized playing the theme music and rachmaninoff concerto on piano. Until now, it's one of the best tear-jerker movie I have seen.

I saw a movie similar to this on the Independent Film Channel, it was called "Happy Accidents" (2000)...it was with Vincent D'Onofrio and Marisa Tomei. It was about a guy who traveled back in time from 2470 to find a girl from a picture that he found. It was really good. If it isn't the movie you are talking about, well, you should still see this one too.
