I asked an obviously ridiculous question as a joke, and they answered me so seriously, not reading the 'fine print', or reading it and not 'getting' it. Should I hang up the clown suit?

maybe a picture of you in the clown suit holding up a BIG SIGN that says this is a joke with a crane holding a twelve foot arrow pointing to the sign preferrably this avatar would be a gif the would allow you to jump up and down and also shake the sign to draw attention to the fact that you are A CLOWN and therefore these are JOKES....... and you could post everything in the JOKE SECTION and also use ********* to highlight the fact that these are JOKES...... i might be beating a dead horse... oh crap the animal nuts are gonna be after me again.... dammit

Yes, but replace it with something off kilter. Get your digital camera involved! I'm currently a bug, yesterday I was a pile of reworked shaving cream; I've been Alice Cooper, Bono, a 6-legged dog, actually myself but with cats eyes, etc. Get as strange as possible.
