Personally, I have been on the side of the working 2 minimum wage jobs to make ends meet and I managed without having to go on welfare. I can understand the need for unemployment if you get fired, but the rest, I'm not so sure. If you don't have the $$ to get pregnant, then don't. I personally am of the opinion people are lazy and would rather freeload than put the effort into working 2 minimum wage jobs to make ends meet.

Both. There are some who are lazy, and don't want to do the 2 jobs thing. But there are also some really needy people, as well. That's what makes the lazy ones such a drag; people start to think they're ALL lazy cheaters, and the ones who are really in need get screwed when programs get cut. But I guess it's just human nature, there are always people out to scam the system, regardless of what the system is.

I am DEFINITELY in agreement with you on the idea that if you don't have the money to get pregnant, don't get pregnant. Unfortunately some people in this country have never heard of birth control or planned parenthood I guess. It is ridiculous. The way I see it, most problems caused in CA could be alleviated somewhat if we weren't so overcrowded, but STILL people continue to reproduce like extinction is threatening us! I really don't get it. I know that birth control isn't 100% effective, so shi* happens. But come on people - do you really need to have 4 kids by the time you are 30 when you are making $25,000.00 a year?

Other than that, I DO think some people need welfare to make it. But I think welfare should be temporary - if you have to stay on it for LIFE, something is wrong. Welfare should help people get themselves to a point where they can take care of themselves.

I'm sure there are people who abuse the system, but there are more whose lives depend on it. It's a temporary help measure put in place for needy families and there are time constraints that vary according to the state that you live in.
BTW, if everyone waited until they had the $$ to get pregnant, most of us wouldn't be here right now. Sounds like selective Darwinism to me...think about it. Count your blessings that you are able bodied enough to work two jobs, and if the day ever comes that you can't, then thank our government that there is assistance out there to help.

Most are just lazy. I have been at the point of not being able to pay bills but I never got on welfare of any type. If you have a legitimate reason, it's fine but I think most are to lazy to get a job. They just keep popping out kids cause they can! The more kids they have, the more money they get. I know this because long ago my great grandparents were doing this.

People are indeed lazy moochers; its far easier to complain, whine and do nothing to get your small government check than actually try to work for that same amount of money. Of course, if you actually have fallen on hard times, then its a good system. I've had lots of family members that have abused that system, though. America is a great place--you can get a job almost anywhere doing anything you want! Why waste the opportunity?

some people reall assistance and they cant do anything about it, but the others dont need it, but the government doesnt make it any easier for people to surivive unless you already have money! so its kinda there fault no one canlive comfortably on minimum wage with kids! its just not gonna happen

It just depends. If they are young and healthy, then I agree. Quit having kids and get a job. However, if they are elderly and sick, I think welfare is a good thing.
