What?!?!?
Are you NUTZ?!?!?!?!?
If this is such a great job, why in the world would you even CONSIDER quitting it?!?
So you have to do a little cold-calling. Have fun with that. Create a new persona and a new name to go by when you make the calls...give yourself the name you wish you'd been born with...just make sure it's okay with your boss...let him or her know that you're using a pseudonym for your outbound calls so that if any of the prospects call back saying that "Jade" called them with this "amazing opportunity" or whatever, the boss knows that the call really did come from your office.
i'm sure you can think of some other ways to make it work and have a little fun at the same time...
good luck....

First, it helps to make sure you have a new job lined up before you leave your current position. The job market is pretty tough right now and you don't want to get trapped in a situation where you have problems finding something new.
That being settled, I've found that it's best to be honest. Let your boss know that you like certain parts of the job but that the negatives make it very difficult for you. Maybe your boss can adjust things to minimize the parts of the job that you don't like or give you some tips on how to cope. Emphasize that you think it's a great place to work and that you hate to leave, but you just have problems with certain parts of it. Managers usually understand. Some will try to help you, others won't. At any rate, if you're honest and positive about your opinion of the job and workplace you should at least be able to get a good reference out of the situation.

Your question is weird. You have a great job? Yet you want to quit? I think alot of people hate certain portions of their job. (I know I do) But you have to try to see if you can do a portion you hate and TRY to turn it into something that isnt so horrible. I am on the phone ALLLLL day at work. Sometimes I will for no reason just change the pitch of my voice. Like one call I will answer In a deeper manly voice. And the next call I will answer in a younger voice. It breaks up the monotony of the call. I myself dont have to do any cold calling. But try to make it a bit fun (while following any rules) And I'm sure you can turn it around without having to quit. And it sounds like your boss is a nice boss. And I'm sure he/she would understand. Hell I tell my boss I wanna quit every day it seems :) Good Luck!

well, before you quit, u need to apply to different jobs. You dont want to be jobless if you do quit. That way u have a job to fall back on. Since u sound like u have a good friendly relationship with your boss, you need to be upfront, and be honest. U can say that another position has been offered to you and you will advance by accepting. It will be a step up further to where you want to be in life. If you say it something like this, there should be no problem quitting.

First, Find another job and get that job before you quit the job you have.
Second, find out if the things you do for this job is actually your job you should be doing.
Third, if you love this job so much.. put up with it or open your own business because nobody likes to be told what to do at a job, be your own boss.

Well obviously the job's not so great if you want to quit so badly. Why don't you talk to your boss and see if they can do some kind of change of position or something. If you really want to leave the best way is to do it because another oportunity that enables you to grow in your career. Employers understand that these things happen.

Never ever quit a job until you have another one. Not a good idea unless you are being systematically tortured with electric probes every single day. Get a resume together, beat the streets on your days off and find something else FIRST. Then, give your two weeks notice.

Honey you dont quit the job until you have a potential offer from another one?? can you take like a day off here and there and look for work in other places... we puertoricans have a popular said that goes a little something like this " Dont let the bird in your hands fly away... for a thousand birds you see flying" meaning you let the one you have in your hands to chase the ones you yet have?? think about it is not easy to get jobs.good luck.

I wouldn't quit until I found another job that would be satisfactory or better. Then you have a good reason to leave.

first of all, find another job FIRST. then, write your boss a nice letter and give her at least 2 weeks of notice, but more if you can, so she has plenty of time to replace you.
