When I worked in Hastings, a retail store here, I found $300. We were able to identify whose it was from our store cameras. Because I was honest about it, the person who lost it gave me $100 of it.

Walking to the bathroom in a casino ("Whiskey Pete's" just over the state line between California and Nevada) once I found three $100 folded up lying underneath one leg of a stool in front of a slot machine. I thought they were fake when I first saw them and almost didn't stop to pick them up. At first I thought it was only one, but upon unfolding them and finding three I nearly fainted. I looked around and saw the aisle was empty so I went to the bathroom, and returned to the car (we just stopped for a bathroom break) and told my wife the good news. That little find paid for our entire trip that weekend.
My biggest previous find was a ten dollar bill enmeshed in a sagebrush about 30 miles from ANYTHING in 1980. To this day I have no idea how that bill got there.

Once while unloading a FedEx type truck I saw a roll of bills in the front. I had to unload the truck fast because the packages prevented the sliding door from opening to let me get it in the front. When I did get it the boss came by and asked why I was in the front. I told him I was turning off the headlights. He thanked me and left. On the way home from work that night I counted the bills in the roll it was $35 and that was a lot in 1980. I am a lot more honest now and would have made sure it went to the driver.

I found a wad of hundreds($400) on the floor in a casino in Vegas. :) Yeee Haa! Then about a week later I found five dollar coins in a dollar machine in the same casino! People always drop their money in casinos, they are in a hurry and whip stuff outta their pockets... I also found $35 on the floor at a swap meet in Riverside, CA... no one was around so I picked it up and didn't act suspicious, I would have given it to anyone who said it was theirs but no one claimed it.

I found over $1200 with a red rubber band around it on the floor of a K-mart once. And back then (1980) it was a lot more money than it is now.
It was a good Christmas!

when i was a kid, i found ten dollars with my best friend. we split it cause we couldn't agree on who saw it first. a few years later, we found a purse on the sidewalk. it had fifty bucks in it . we thought we were rich!! we were standing where we found the purse, holding it and making plans with the money (what candy to by, stuff like that!) when i felt someone tap my shoulder. the person said "give me my purse!!" it was a grown woman who looked very upset. she grabbed the purse out of my hands and walked away. i felt so stupid. after she left, we said we should've walked away when we found the purse instead of standing at the scene! easy come, easy go!! lol!!
