I have so much trouble in studying and memorizing things.
I mean it's difficult on me to focus on something for long time.
PLus i can not take control of arranging my studying times.
I sometimes study 10 hours a day...:-( this is sad. I do not enjoy my self.

If I have to memorize a list of something, I usually try to make a song of it, either making up the tune or matching the words to a catchy tune I know from some song.

We all still remember some big chunk of information we were forced to memorize and recite without notes in high school--for me it's the Greek alphabet and the formula for cosine. Even so, teachers today realize that making students memorize some bit of information that doesn't mean anything to them is of limited value.

Teachers understand that students have to construct their own knowledge by connecting new facts to what they already know. Making students memorize things is a kind of articificial knowledge. There's no guarantee students understand what they are saying, or will remember it after they recite it in class, and they tend to resent the assignments. Much better if they can learn information by using it.

Type 'Aids to Remembering' into the search box within the web site linked below for a useful PDF giving suggestions. I found it helpful.

Good luck.

By the way, 'Learning by Heart' means learning through passion or learning because you want to, i.e. it's important to you.
